Increase in International Visitor Numbers During the First Quarter of the Current Year

Amman – The Jordanian tourism sector experienced significant growth in the first quarter of 2025, with a 13% rise in international visitors compared to the same period in 2024.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the total number of international visitors reached approximately 1,507,546, up from 1,333,775 in the first quarter of the previous year.

The number of overnight tourists increased to about 1,245,227, marking an 8.7% rise from 1,145,336 in 2024. Day visitors also saw a notable increase, totaling 262,319 compared to 188,440 in the same period last year, reflecting a 39.2% growth .

In March 2025 alone, Jordan welcomed approximately 371,462 international visitors, including 307,592 overnight tourists and 63,870 day visitors.

Tourism revenue during the first two months of 2025 rose by 16.3%, reaching 910 million Jordanian dinars, up from 782 million dinars in the same period of 2024. This growth is attributed to a 21.5% increase in international tourist numbers and higher spending rates, particularly among Arab visitors.

During the Eid al-Fitr holiday, tourist and archaeological sites across the kingdom received approximately 52,000 visitors, including Jordanians, Arabs, and foreigners.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in collaboration with relevant authorities, implemented several measures to prepare these sites for visitors and provide high-quality tourism services.

The ministry highlighted that the increase in tourist numbers and revenue is due to several factors, notably intensified promotional campaigns in targeted tourism markets and the resumption of new direct and low-cost flights.

The ministry affirmed its commitment to enhancing the tourism sector’s performance and its contribution to the gross domestic product by developing tourism products and infrastructure, improving visitor experiences, intensifying marketing campaigns, focusing on diverse tourism patterns, and diversifying target markets to ensure sustained growth, job creation, and solidifying Jordan’s position as a global tourist destination.
